LocalTranscribe is a privacy-first transcription tool that runs entirely in your browser. Your files never leave your device.
Why LocalTranscribe?
Most transcription services require you to upload your files to their servers. This means your private content is transmitted over the internet and stored on third-party infrastructure. LocalTranscribe is different.
How It Works
LocalTranscribe uses cutting-edge AI models that run directly in your web browser using WebAssembly technology. When you load a file:
- The file stays on your device
- Audio is extracted locally
- AI transcription happens in your browser
- No data is sent to any server
Technology
We use OpenAI's Whisper model, optimized for browser execution through ONNX Runtime and WebAssembly. This allows us to provide state-of-the-art transcription quality while maintaining complete privacy.
Open Source
LocalTranscribe is built on open source technology. The transcription is powered by transformers.js, making advanced AI accessible to everyone.
